Big News! Our friend, Producer of our last CD, FINALLY HOME, and former Calabash guitarist, Tom Bukovac, just won the 2009 CMA AWARD for best guitarist. How good it must feel to be the best guitar picker in Nashville. Dan Dugmore who played on the cd also won as Best Steel Guitar Player, but it's Tommy's first time!
In other BIG news, we got mentioned in a top selling book! Joe Vitale, Legendary drummer from CSN, Joe Walsh, Dan Fogelberg, and many more, just came out with a book called Backstage Pass in which he speaks about his time recording our CD (He says it's one of his favorites, and that's not bad for a guy who played drums on Rock'n'Roll Hootchie Koo and Rocky Mountain Way!) Bob Gatewood and Calabash have been the house band at Fagans-in-the-Flats and Sloppy Joe’s in Key West. But, they finally found home at the Round House Bar on Put-in-Bay and remained it’s most booked band for over 20 years. Gatewood’s last CD was voted 1 everywhere it was played, including Cleveland. It was produced by former Calabash member, Cleveland native, and the 2009 CMA Best Guitarist, Tom Bukovac. It also featured Ohio’s own legendary drummer Joe Vitale and a host of others |
